This video made me extremely angry as I don't understand why somebody would do this. In this video a homeless man has a cinnamon cake which was earned by himself. This was obviously a kind gesture coming from a man with no home, income, shelter or food of his own. When the men filming jump on the homeless man's cake.
At the end of the film they seem to give the man money as a way of taking back what they just done but I personally don’t think this is good enough. What makes me angry about the idea of someone doing this is probably because I would never dream of doing it myself as I'm sure that most people wouldn't. I can’t imagine the idea of being homeless and how horrible it must be never mind to be treated as dirt by the very people you rely on for money and shelter etc.
In the video description the man who stepped on the cake apologises for what he has done saying:
“I completely understand that this video has made a lot of people angry and upset and I'm truly sorry. It was supposed to be just a dumb quick bit for a shock jock radio show and unfortunately it became way more than that. I absolutely took responsibility for my actions and continue to take responsibility all these years later. I made good with Andrew at the time and he continued to be part of our show as we continued…”
But if the video hadn't of gone viral would he have apologised, would he have made friends with the homeless man? And if you were the homeless man in this video, would you really consider this man ‘a friend’?
