passed around like they’re going out of fashion. The way one might
say “I love school” or “I hate homework”. Do I really love school? Do I
really hate school?
The answer to both is no! No I don’t love school with such an
undying passion that I would sacri&ce everything else for it. No I
don’t hate school, with such ferocity, that I would rather gauge my
eyes out with rusty spoons and maul my &ngers to the point of no
return, just to get out of wring an English blog! No I wouldn’t do
that. However, would I sacri&ce everything for someone that I truly
love? I would like to think so. Would I gauge my eyes out and maul
my &ngers just to avoid something I strongly dislike? I hope I never
have to be in a posion to consider either.
My conclusion; Love and Hate, two of the strongest feelings in
the world, yet used in everyday life as common phrases. Should these
words be used less casually and more senmentally or has the
meaning been lost down through the years?
