Love and Hate are some of the first concepts we ever come across as a child. Love from our parents and an absolute abhorration of anything green and vaguely vegetable-shaped. It is from these simple black and whites that our own personality is formed, a muddled up greyish murk of a being who could always nitpick our loves and hates, but never truly decide on something that we truly love beyond anything else or hate so much we would actually cast the concept forever from space and time. (With the natural exception of Justin Bieber, who I firmly believe is a thing that the Doctor forgot to fix with his TARDIS.) Often, we must come to a decision between things we love and hate, which is easy. But when we must choose between two loves or two hates, it is far more difficult. Should I pick Music or Economics for the Leaving Cert? I love both, and I don't specifically need either for the courses I wish to do in college. Who do I vote for/support? Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton. Both are positively horrific choices, in all honesty, but we must make a choice. Naturally, for the readers reading after the month of November 2016, this decision has been made, Donald, Hillary or Ken Bone. It is these choices that shape us to be the humans we are. Love and Hate are centralized concepts to our inner morality, personality and true selves. They shape us, change us and mold us into the great, fantastic people we are in life. We use them to cause discussions, arguments, blog posts. The main point is, Love and Hate are extremely important in life. We must always use them in decisions, conversations and in moving on with our lives, watching Corrie and eating Marmite. Sayonara! S.I
