Music takes you away; music lifts you off the ground. And music is never-ending, one of the most important things about music in my opinion, is what music can do. I believe that one song can change your mood from sad to happy, low to buzzing or even happy to a crying mess etc. One song can bring you back to a memory just from hearing the beat it acts as a trigger and brings you back to a time or place you may have forgotten about till then.
Our emotions are somehow drawn out as we relate to the lyrics and bond with the bass. It’s not complicated, there’s no-one telling us how to feel or what to do, it’s just you and the vibe of that song. To me music is free Psychotherapy in 4 minutes or less. “One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain.” ― Bob Marley.
I believe that listening to music is what gets a lot of people through the day. Let’s face it without music we would be lost; music has a great influence in the development of society. It helps to bring people together. As Billy Joel says "I think music in itself is healing. It's an explosive expression of humanity. It's something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we're from, everyone loves music."
I'm the type of person where if I’m having a bad day I will turn to music to cheer me up and help me to forget about life’s problems for awhile. What really gets me is when a good song (and I mean really good song) comes along that when you listen to it for the first time, you can’t help but stop what your doing or when you get goose bumps from a song.
As Travie McCoy says "It’s amazing that what can be an outlet for artists could save someone’s life." I believe strongly in this theory because lets face it all you have to do is go on YouTube and look at the comments under videos like "I won’t give up" By Jason Mraz or "Why" By Rascal Flatts where people are sharing how the lyrics of the song has helped them to deal with problems in their lives and a bonding with complete strangers who offer advice to them.
Ever have a moment where you listen to a song and think it describes your situation word for word or want to say something but couldn’t find the words then later hear a song that has exactly what you want to say? That is the magic of music, it's always there for you when you need it whether its to block the world out or to simply have a rave.
I say turn it up as loud as you can and enjoy!
“Music touches us emotionally, where words alone can't.” ― Johnny Depp
