Another day over, I trudge up to bed annoyed with myself-the reason, one of my greatest faults PROCRASTINATION.
Theodore Roosevelt once said ;
“In a moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing to do, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing.”
I however have wasted way too many evenings lurking in the kitchen or returning down stairs to get something and somehow ending up in front of the television…doing nothing.
It doesn’t matter how desperately I need something done. It doesn’t matter if it is school work, housework, piano practise or exercise , I will ALWAYS find something else to do!
But at least I have come to terms with my problem, which is the first step to recovery.
I know I’m not the only procrastinator in the world, we all know the difference between what we
want to do and what we should do.
So here are some tips to help all those afflicted:
1. Have a plan of what you are going to do each day
(obviously don’t set your sights too high, its all about baby steps)
2. Putting things
off only makes them harder so stop thinking and start doing!
3. Start with
the harder things first.
4. Finish the tasks you start
( it makes you feel better if you totally finish tasks you set)
I really hope this helps all my fellow sufferers. I will now start practising what I preach,…
or maybe I’ll start tomorrow…
